This hands-on cooking class is perfect for those who want to add authentic Argentinian fare to their culinary repertoire. You'll learn to make mouthwatering empanadas in the home of a friendly local guide, who will keep the conversation and the food flowing.

Private Buenos Aires Cooking Class

Step into a cozy apartment in the enchanting Belgrano neighborhood of Buenos Aires for an exclusive private empanada cooking experience hosted by a local. This is a great opportunity to see daily life in Argentina, and learn the secrets of authentic Argentinian food.

Gabriela is an ardent food lover who can't wait to share her culinary passion with you. A naturally sociable soul since her youth, she's the kind of person who warmly engages with everyone she meets. Feel free to tap into her local knowledge for any questions about Buenos Aires while you cook away.

Your delectable journey kicks off with a welcoming glass of wine or beer, setting the stage for a traditional Argentinian picada - an assortment of cheeses, jams, and nuts - savored on Gabriela's spacious balcony (weather permitting). Following this delightful introduction, Gabriela will guide you through the art of crafting empanada fillings, unveiling her tried-and-true techniques for achieving perfection. Please note that the hands-on cooking segment will unfold at Gabriela's dining table, as her kitchen is compact in size.

Under Gabriela's expert guidance, you'll master the process of preparing dough for a sample batch of empanadas, with Gabriela supplementing your efforts by incorporating some locally sourced dough, ensuring you have enough for the grand total of nearly 50 empanadas. Learn how to make three distinct fillings, which may encompass a delectable blend of chicken, onions, and leeks, a flavorful mix of zucchini, onions, and cheese, and the classic Argentinian combination of cheese and jam.

After the baking stops, sit down and relish your freshly baked empanadas, along with a crisp salad. Conclude your feast with a taste of chocotorta, a traditional Argentinian layered cake composed of chocolate, biscuits, and dulce de leche, optionally accompanied by a steaming cup of coffee.
